Day 3: The Audit: Finding Your Human Premium
🎧 Day 03 · Riley narration
You cannot lead with what you cannot name
Most people sense they bring something valuable but could not say what it is in one clean sentence. A value you cannot name is a value you cannot grow, charge for, or defend. Today you take inventory.
The Two-Column Audit
Draw two columns. On the left, list everything you actually do in a typical week — be specific and honest. On the right, mark each item with one question: could a capable AI do this for free today, or clearly soon?
Watch what happens. Most of the left column moves right. That is not failure — that is the map. What refuses to move, the work that still says "only a human, and really, only you," is the raw ore of your Human Premium.
Find your signal
Go past tasks to people. What do they seek you out for, by name? When does someone say "ask her" instead of "ask the team"? That repeated request is your signal.
The Busywork Trap
The biggest threat to your premium is not the machine. It is that you bury your premium under busywork that feels productive. Every hour spent on automatable work out of habit is an hour not invested in the part of you that cannot be copied.
Today's one-degree shift
Complete the Two-Column Audit for one real week. Star the items that would not move.
